Scrub UP!
Scrub UP! is a Youth Expedition Project(YEP) initiated by NUS Biomedical Engineering students.
We hope to share our engineering knowledge and skills to make a meaningful contribution locally and to the Saelao Project.
Objectives
ScrubUP! aims to eliminate inefficiency and improve quality of life with the knowledge we have as engineers.
About Youth Expedition Project (YEP)
The YEP is an International Service-Learning program funded by the National Youth Council which aims to develop self-confident youths who are able to work in teams about their roles and obligations towards the community and have a better appreciation for our systems, policies
and way of life.
About the Saelao Project
Sae Lao is a sustainable development project located in Nathong Village, near the city of Vang Vieng, Laos. The project consists of a small organic farm, a farm-to-table restaurant, a community center that provides daily English classes, and a volunteer project for international visitors. Sengkeo Frichitthavong, a native of Vang Vieng, founded the project in 2008 and still oversees its operation.The mission of the Sae Lao project is to provide a holistic model for sustainable development in order to manage natural resources and people in an efficient, effective, and equitable manner.
